Our Board Members
Our winery has seen a number of changes over recent years; however in February 2008 a group of four passionate Italian-Australian wine men purchased Haselgrove Wines. Each had immigrated from Italy to Australia in their youth and have since become successful Australian business owners.
Board Member Bios
Keith Smith – ChairmanKeith Smith is an experienced Chairman with an insightful knowledge of the wine industry. He has led number of wine businesses, including Barossa Cooperative Winery Ltd., Wolf Blass Wines Ltd. and Banksia Wines Ltd., and chaired the KPMG Global Wine Group and Zork Pty. Ltd. In addition to wine, his directorships have encompassed the food, grain and banking industries and he has served as a National Director of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Division President in SA/NT.

comm Don Totino OAM – DirectorDon Totino was born in Calabria, Italy in 1950 and immigrated to Australian in 1968. In 1978, Don formed Festival City Wines & Spirits Pty. Ltd. The company today is a leading distributor of wines, spirits & beers, and imports and distributes fine Italian and Australian continental produce. “Can’t do that”, “not possible”, “impossible” and other words or phrases to that extent are objectionable to Don’s ears – he is governed by determination, persistence and enthusiasm. His weakness is his grandchildren – they truly are the light of his life. |

Steve Maglieri – DirectorSerafino (Steve) Maglieri was born in Campobasso, Italy and arrived in McLaren Vale in 1962, five years after his father. In 1965, Steve and his father Giovanni bought 40 hectares of scrub in McLaren Vale and planted their first Italian varieties. Steve flourished in all aspects of the wine industry – from picking, pruning and cellar hand work to building his first winery, Maglieri Wines, in 1972. The Maglieri name has enjoyed both national and international success over the past thirty years. Steve has been crowned ‘Bushing King’ of McLaren Vale twice in his career, a truly revered accolade. |

Don Luca – DirectorDon Luca was born in Calabria, in the south of Italy in 1942 and came to Australia at the age of 17, as his parents felt that Australia held better opportunities than Italy at the time. In 1999, Don continued his father’s tradition by planting his own vineyard in McLaren Vale to Shiraz and Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon, three varieties very well suited for McLaren Vale. Vinrock, the wine label of Luca Vineyards, was established in 2004. Don believes in the long term potential of McLaren Vale and its ability to consistently grow red grape varieties which match the rest of the world in quality. |

Tony Carrocci – DirectorTony Carrocci was born in Calabria, Italy in 1945 and immigrated to Australia at the age of 10 years old. Over the past 40 years, Tony has overseen the construction of several residential, commercial and industrial projects and developments across the state. He is a well known and respected businessman within the local building and construction industry. In addition to Tony’s property and construction interests, he has always had a passion for wine and the wine industry. |
